from people who know Judge Jones

Hon. Jimmy Weaver

Kaufman County Republican Chairman

“It is improper for a candidate to use the accusation of voter fraud and voter harvesting in a campaign when an active investigation is taking place by the Texas Attorney General’s office. All claims and accusations by Tracy Gray’s campaign are out of place and imply guilt by association and will almost certainly affect voters and their comfort of having an open and fair election.  I have already been contacted by voters about the possibility their vote not counting.”

Hon. David Byrnes
Former Kaufman County Sheriff

“Judge Dennis Jones has done a great job for Kaufman County as the judge of the County Court-at-Law for the last five years. His almost 40 years of experience in the courtroom is a tremendous asset most counties don’t have. Replacing Judge Jones with someone who hasn’t tried a case or handled contested hearings in a courtroom for over eight years would be a terrible mistake for our county. I hope voters realize that.

MAX WOMACK

Retired Texas Ranger

“I have known Judge Dennis Jones all of his legal career. He is a man of great character, and a great judge. I fully support him.”

BRIAN CORRIGAN

Former First Assistant Kaufman County District Attorney's Office

Criminal Law Specialization

“I have known Judge Jones for the past 20 years. He is an excellent attorney.   He has the highest ethical standards.   He is a devoted public servant and excellent judge for the past four years.”

WENDY THOMAS TOWNS

President/CEO Thomas Protective Services

“ With Judge Jones, what you see is what you get, every single time. A straight-shooter with an excellent judicial record, Judge Jones understands the law as it is written.”

Dear Kaufman County Voter:

My opponent has never let the truth get in the way of a good lie.

The recent political flyer from my opponent indicated a 63% percent high reversal rate on cases that were appealed to the 5th Court of Appeals of Texas.

What makes this LIE even more tragic is she does not even reference the higher courts' name correctly!

Of course the numbers are outright misrepresentations and skewed.

On my 5 years on the County Court at Law #1 bench, I have disposed of close to 5,000 cases as a judge. Approximately 50 cases - civil, criminal and family cases - have been appealed. So only 50 litigants out of 5000 found it necessary to even appeal - which is 1% RATE NOT 63%.

My opponent stated on Facebook some were reversed. From the cases that they referenced on Facebook occurred when I WAS NOT EVEN A JUDGE AT THAT TIME. The case was tried by a prior judge who is now deceased. Another case was reversed by something the jury did - not my error.

My commitment and work ethic is one I am proud and proud of the fact I have been appealed and reversed so very few times. Their allegations are misleading at the least; unethical at its worst. There actions are shameful. The people of Kaufman County should expect more and deserve more.

So what would make a candidate lie so outrageously? Desperate for a job or power? Not a judge I would want to appear in front of! How many cases will she have to recuse herself on due to her husband’s cases? -- Costing the taxpayers of Kaufman County untold tax dollars for visiting judges or even worst, adding to the caseload of our other sitting judges?

The question for all voters is do you want a honest, hard-working judge who knows the law and is not bullied by lawyers or one that will be beholden to a few - at the expense of justice for all.

I ask humbly for your vote today, July 18 and Saturday, July 21!

Thank you again for your trust,

Judge Dennis Jones

County Court at Law #1

Kaufman County
