The Honorable Dennis Patman Jones

Judge of the Kaufman County Court at Law

For the past four years, I have served as the Presiding Judge of the Kaufman County Court at Law. It has been my honor to administer justice with the jurisdiction of criminal cases (mostly misdemeanors, some felonies), juveniles and general civil docket. The efficiency of the court is the key in providing defendants and plaintiffs' cases to being settled in a timely manner, saving taxpayers dollars and reducing the backlog.

The quote is appropriate, "Justice delayed is justice denied."

The other component of Kaufman County Court at Law is DWI Diversion Court which provides guidance and treatment for non-violent DWIs. Each
participant is held accountable and highly monitored to graduate to become a productive member of society. Another component is the Mental Illness Court which partners with the criminal justice system and community resources to facilitate and assist for the best possible outcome for all. The purpose is to provide representation to the individuals with mental health issues and seek solutions to dispose of the criminal cases.

As a judge, I bring experience, fairness, integrity and a balanced temperament to the courtroom so all that appear in the court receive justice. My conservative values of Faith and Family is center and key to my life.

My goal and vow are

1. The Constitution is centerpiece in all judicial proceedings in my court.

2. Never to legislate from the bench.

3. To truly interpret the laws as the laws were written.

A judicial bench is no place to learn as you go.

I am seeking your support.

Thank you for your consideration.
